MADISON COUNTY, Ind. -- An Indianapolis man has been convicted after he conducted several purchases of methamphetamine with a confidential informant from the Madison County Drug Task Force.
According to court documents, 47-year-old Ricky Johnson, also known as "Frosty," was convicted on Friday of three counts of dealing in methamphetamine, a Level 2 felony. Johnson also pleaded guilty to being a habitual offender.
The verdict came after a three-day jury trial, according to officials with the Madison County Prosecutor's Office. A jury took 20 minutes to convict Johnson on Friday.
On three occasions, the Madison County Drug Task Force conducted controlled purchases of methamphetamine with Johnson. Court documents state that in January 2022, February 2022 and March 2022, Johnson reportedly conducted a drug transaction with a confidential informant.
"Johnson delivered to a CI a substance which tested presumptive for methamphetamine at least 10 grams in exchange for confidential funds," the documents read.
Madison County Judge David Happe scheduled Johnson's sentencing for 9 a.m. on May 21. Johnson faces a possible sentence of 16-50 years, officials with the Madison County Prosecutor's Office said.
