HOWARD COUNTY, Ind. -- A Howard County man has been preliminarily charged with 10 felonies after he reportedly had drugs and guns in a home, according to a news release.
On Saturday, deputies with the Howard County Sheriff's Office responded to the 300 block of North Ohio Street looking for 30-year-old Michael Roark. Officials said that Roark was wanted in Howard County for a petition to revoke on one count of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony.
Deputies with the office tracked down Roark to a home on North Ohio Street. The release said that when deputies arrived at the home, they smelled burnt marijuana from inside the home.
After Roark answered the door, he was reportedly taken into custody without incident. Because of the marijuana smell, deputies then searched the home. During the search, deputies reportedly uncovered the following items:
- Handgun with altered serial number
- 29 grams of field-tested positive methamphetamine
- Seven grams of field-tested positive heroin
- 14 grams of field-tested positive marijuana
- Assorted controlled substances in pill form, including Xanax, Vyvanse and Oxycodone
- Numerous smoking devices, baggies, scales and syringes.
Roark was transported to the Howard County Jail and booked on multiple charges, including:
- One count of dealing methamphetamine, a Level 2 felony
- One count of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 3 felony
- One count of dealing a narcotic drug, a Level 3 felony
- One count of possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, a Level 4 felony
- One count of felon in possession of a firearm, a Level 5 felony
- One count of possession of cocaine or narcotic drug, a Level 5 felony
- One count of altered gun identification, a Level 5 felony
- One count of possession of a hypodermic syringe, a Level 6 felony
- One count of possession of a controlled substance, a Level 6 felony
- Two drug-related misdemeanors.
The case remains under investigation, the release said.
