WESTFIELD, Ind. — The Club at Chatham Hills in Westfield is gearing up to host the 2025 global professional golf tour, LIV Golf, for the regular-season finale.

The event is expected to draw 25,000 to 30,000 visitors to the city, according to a report from the Indianapolis Business Journal. The economic impact could bring in as much as $30 million to local businesses, restaurants, hotels, retail stores and more.

It will also mark the first elite professional golfing event hosted by Chatham Hills.

“I think it's going to have huge impacts for us long term not only in economic development," said Westfield Mayor Scott Willis. "We are going to be now on the radar screens of a lot of different companies that may have not known we existed, provided we do a great job which I am confident we will. We are going to roll out the red carpet and I think it's going to create a place people will want to come back to so that’s amazing.”

LIV Golf is expected to tour in Korea, Dallas, Andalucía, United Kingdom, and Chicago, according to a LIV Golf social post. LIV represents the Roman numeral for 54 due to the tournament having 54 holes over three days.

The tournament will come to Central Indiana from Aug. 15 - Aug. 17. In addition to golf, the tournament will feature live music, different fan engagement activities and other interactive experiences.

"We are going to do what we do best! We are going to host people," said Karen Radcliff, the vice president and chief strategy officer for Hamilton County Tourism. "We are going to welcome them. We are going to provide them with a lot of hospitality, the Hoosier hospitality."

Betsy Henke Garfield, a partner with Henke Development Group, said LIV Golf explored cities that love sports and saw Indianapolis appear in one of their studies.

"They didn't really think they were looking there but they came and we just continued to WOW them," she said.

Garfield said she has to pinch herself thinking of renowned golfers like Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka teeing off in Westfield.

“It's just really exciting for our city as we continue to have more international events and really expose what we do best on an international level," Garfield said "Golf is huge all over the world - It's just a great opportunity for us to do that!”
