INDIANAPOLIS -- After years of campaigning and raising money for a multitude of races, Indiana's 2024 primary election is finally here.
After Tuesday's results are tallied, voters throughout the states will have an idea of who will represent each political party in November's general election.
During Tuesday's primary, voters throughout the state of Indiana will determine the Republican and Democratic candidates in a number of races, including Indiana's governor race, various seats in the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate, various statehouse seats, as well as county and local races.
Some voters, including those in Pike Township and Brown County, will also decide on whether or not to give their school district an increase in funding through a proposed operating referendum.
During this election's early voting period, which was from April 9 to May 6, Marion County saw a slight increase in early voting totals from 2022's primary election, reporting that 11,934 residents participated early. This comes after 11,176 Marion County residents voted early in 2022.
