GRANT COUNTY, Ind. — A man was arrested on Thursday in Grant County for failing to register as a sex offender.
Anthony Moore, 30, was charged with:
- Failure of a Sex or Violent Offender to Possess Identification, a Level 6 Felony
- Resisting Law Enforcement, a Class A Misdemeanor
According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Moore was observed by the Sweetser Police Department in the area of the Sweetser Switch Trail. When SPD approached Moore, he fled from officers.
A second sighting of Moore in the area of the trail prompted another pursuit. During the chase, Moore attempted to flee from police again.
Moore is on probation for Child Solicitation for Sexual Intercourse and is classified as a “moderate” risk offender.
"Registered sex offenders in Grant County will comply with the laws of the sex offender registry. If they fail to do so, we will seek justice,” Sheriff Del Garcia said in a press release.
Moore was transported to the Grant County Jail after he was apprehended by police.
