LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Police have arrested a Lafayette man accused of having child pornography in his possession.
Taruis Shanklin, 22, has been arrested after officers with the Lafayette Police Department executed a search warrant around 5 p.m. Wednesday at a residence in the 1800 block of Underwood Street.
LPD said the investigation began in late 2023 after receiving a cyber tip that Shanklin allegedly had child sexual abuse material in his possession.
Shanklin was arrested and transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail where he was preliminarily charged with possession of child pornography, which is a level 5 felony.
