WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — An angler looking to reel in a big catch ended up making a startling discovery — a human bone.
According to the Tippecanoe County Coroner's Office, the angler was fishing at Wabash Bottoms Park in West Lafayette on Tuesday when they found the bone.
A forensic test would later confirm the bone to be human remains.
Indiana State Police have opened up an investigation into the grisly discovery and are working with a state police laboratory to hopefully identify the remains using DNA.
