IMPD: 1 dead after water rescue on northeast side of Indianapolis

According to officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the person who was involved in Monday morning's water rescue has died from their injuries.

IMPD said that they responded to a report of a personal injury crash involving a vehicle going into a pond. The driver of the vehicle was transported to an area hospital where they were later pronounced dead.

INDIANAPOLIS — One person is in critical condition after a Monday morning water rescue on the northeast side of Indianapolis, according to a social media post from the Lawrence Fire Department.

This comes after fire crews responded to the rescue in the area of 42nd St. and German Church Rd. A person was reportedly pulled from a pond and taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

The post states that crews are being assisted by the Lawrence Police Department, the Fishers Fire Department as well as the Indianapolis Fire Department.

According to an update from the Lawrence Fire Department, the pond was searched by the Indianapolis Fire Department's dive team and no other people were located.
