INDIANAPOLIS — Following the events of Hurricane Helene, Indiana's Task Force 1 announced on Wednesday that is sending additional crews to Asheville, N.C.
According to an X (formerly Twitter) post from Indiana Task Force, the crews are deploying with the Hazmat Equipment Push Package (HEPP).
Task Force 1 added that the group will bring multiple resources to help with search and rescue operations. This includes personal protective equipment and technology that can help with decontaminating affected areas.
This is a further continuation of Hoosiers' relief efforts dedicated to the victims of Hurricane Helene. In addition to Task Force 1, organizations like Gleaners Food Bank, the Indiana National Guard and the Indianapolis Red Cross have completed missions and provided aid in Florida and Georgia.
