INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department have captured an armed suspect that ran from and pointed a gun at police on the city's west side for hours on Wednesday morning.
Officers were dispatched to an 'incident' in the 5000 block of West Raymond Street on a report of a suspicious person messing around with a vandalized a box truck.
According to IMPD, police showed up and confronted the suspect that resulted in a brief physical fight between the suspect and the officer. Officials said the suspect also pointed a gun at the officer, but no shots were fired.
The suspect then fled the scene on foot. The officer suffered a minor hand injury.
Lockdowns for surrounding schools are lifted.
