PLAINFIELD, Ind. — Following the delays, closures, outages and damages that occurred Friday due to remnants of Hurricane Helene, Duke Energy reported on Saturday that it has restored power to more than 62,000 of its Indiana customers.
According to Duke, more than 70,000 people were affected by the outages. The company ended up making strong progress on restoring service overnight. As of 12:46 p.m. on Saturday, just over 5,000 of Duke Energy's Indiana customers were without power.
Duke said it is still determining the full scope of damage, but over 25 of its Indiana operation centers were affected by high winds and heavy rain.
Duke Energy added that it will provide more updates, including estimated times of restoration, once it gathers enough information and assess all of the damages.
