NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- A man is in critical condition after being pulled from a retention pond in a Noblesville neighborhood Friday afternoon.
First responders with the Noblesville Police Department and the Noblesville Fire Department were dispatched shortly after 4 p.m. to the area of Hague Road and Windwood Parkway after receiving reports of a person being observed in a retention pond.
NPD One of the callers reportedly told dispatch that they observed a "middle-aged man" on top of the water fountain that is located in the middle of the water body. The caller stated that they then watched as the man jumped into the water where he never resurfaced, NPD said.
NPD said authorities quickly located the man submerged in the water and provided lifesaving measures on the scene.
The man was transported to an area hospital where he is currently in critical condition, according to NPD.
