INDIANAPOLIS - The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating after four people were injured in a pair of shootings early Tuesday morning.

According to IMPD, around 1:15 a.m. officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 3100 block of Capitol Avenue.

When officers arrived, they located an adult female with a gunshot wound. As officers were treating her wound, a male walked up who had also been shot.

"They were together at the same time when they were shot," said Capt. John Arvin with IMPD. "But they didn’t describe any vehicles any people in the area. They heard some shots and all of a sudden [realized] they were shot.

Both victims were taken to Eskenazi Hospital in stable condition.

“Aggravated assault detective called to the scene. At this time we have no motive and no suspect information," Arvin said.

“Right now they are looking for shell casings," Arvin said. "They did find some blood splatter. And they are looking for any possible witness or any doorbell video to help them out.”

Police located a crime scene in a nearby alley.

At 3:25 a.m., IMPD provided an update that two additional victims were found with gunshot wounds near 34th Street and Boulevard Place--about a block away from the other reported shooting. The victims, a man and a woman, arrived in a vehicle, police said, and were taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital.

Police located a crime scene in the 3700 block of Boulevard Place.

While both shootings were close in proximity, IMPD is considering them two separate incidents at this time. They said it was unknown if the two shootings were related.

Anyone with information should call IMPD at 317-327-3475 or Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS (8477).
