INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis Public Schools has announced that it will be the recipient of a grant worth $1 million to help fund student success efforts across the school district.
According to an IPS news release, Salesforce has provided the district with $1 million to help supplement its post-secondary programs. These include college tours, career awareness programs, summer transition workshops and much more.
These post-secondary initiatives will be funded through the new grant and will assist nearly 16,000 IPS students over the next two years as they prepare for life after high school.
"With Salesforce's support, we're able to offer critical experiences like college visits, career exploration, and summer transition programs to thousands of IPS students,” said Stephannie Bailey, CEO of Indianapolis Public Schools Foundation. “These opportunities can be game-changers, especially for students who might be the first in their families to consider college.”
The grant is part of a larger Salesforce initiative that has so far brought $150 million worth of education initiative grants to school districts throughout the country during the last 12 years. This latest round of funding was worth a reported $23 million, IPS said.
IPS and Salesforce have been strategic partners for the last seven years, according to the release.
"Salesforce's commitment to Indianapolis Public Schools goes beyond just funding," said Bailey. "For seven years, they've been true partners in our mission to prepare every student for success after graduation. This continued support is a testament to their belief in our students and our community."
