INDIANAPOLIS — The Wayne Township Fire Department rescued 11 ducklings that were trapped in a storm drain on Saturday morning.
In a post on Facebook, the fire department reported that emergency personnel were called to a storm drain on Rockville Road near Sam's Club on the west side of Indianapolis. WTFD indicated a passerby discovered the baby ducks and called 911.

Firefighters removed a heavy steel cover to access the drain and get the ducklings out. Air monitoring was conducted during the rescue to ensure the ducklings and the rescuers were safe, per WTFD.
WTFD reported that all 11 ducks were safely reunited with their mother.
