INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indiana Crime Guns Task Force made an arrest late last month after an outstanding warrant led to the discovery of a stolen firearm and narcotics at a home in the northeast side of Indianapolis.
According to a post on social media by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, 33-year-old Shawn Fox was arrested on Aug. 29 on his outstanding warrant, as well as these felony charges:
- One count of heroin dealing, a Level 4 felony
- One count of possession of heroin, a Level 4 felony
- One count of possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, a Level 4 felony
- One count of possession of narcotics, a Level 6 felony
- One count of maintaining a common nuisance with a controlled substance, a Level 6 felony
At around 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 29, investigators with the task force were assisting the Marion County Probation Office with a compliance check in the 6200 block of E 55th Place. During the check, suspected narcotics were reportedly seen in the home.
One of the men at the home, later identified as Fox, was found to have an outstanding probation violation out of Marion County. Because of this, the release said that a search warrant was obtained for the home.
During the search, investigators reportedly seized a stolen firearm, more than $1,000 in cash, as well as heroin, Xanax pills and marijuana.
