INDIANAPOLIS - Colts' legend Dwight Freeney will be honored at halftime of Sunday's Colts' season opener with a ceremony to receive his Pro Football Hall of Fame ring.
The Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence is one of three symbols to signify induction into the elite club of football's greatest players, along with the gold jacket and the bronze bust.
The ring is set in 14K gold with diamonds weighing 1.75 carats. The outer diamonds create a stadium lights effect around the football-shaped diamond center. There's a blue gemstone to symbolize confidence, power and integrity.
Freeney's name with "Class of 2024" is on one side of the ring with a likeness of his bronze bust and position on the other side.
The inside of the ring is engraved with the number 372, which is his Hall of Fame member number.
