INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Historic Preservation Commission has approved plans to demolish the CSX Building in downtown Indianapolis and replace it with a hotel and a music venue in a $300,000,000 project.
Led by Herb Simon and the Simon family, the Boxcar Development LLC investment group will begin construction in the fourth quarter of 2024 and will continue through 2027.
The development will include a 13-story Shinola Hotel, a 4,000-capacity music venue operated by Live Nation, retail space, and a pedestrian sky bridge over Pennsylvania St. into Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
