ANDERSON, Ind. -- An Anderson man reportedly admitted to officers that he had sexual contact with a minor and distributed files that included sexual material with children.
According to court documents, 32-year-old Lonnie Hoskins was charged with five counts of child exploitation, a Level 4 felony; one count of sexual misconduct with a minor, a Level 4 felony; and one count of sexual misconduct with a minor, a Level 5 felony.
A detective with the Greenfield Police Department received a number of cyber tips that were reportedly associated with Hoskins. The majority of the tips came from a cloud storage software company and two came from the KIK social media platform.
The tips surrounded multiple files uploaded to the platforms that were flagged for reportedly containing sexual abuse material. Some of the files were videos that reportedly featured instances of forced sexual acts involving children.
On Aug. 20, officers with the Hamilton Metro Child Exploitation Task Force conducted a search of Hoskins' home in Anderson. During an initial interview with Hoskins, he reportedly confirmed his phone number, his KIK user names and the emails associated with the KIK account, as well as the cloud storage platform.
During that initial conversation, Hoskins reportedly admitted to distributing the material around 100 to 150 times over multiple platforms. Hoskins also reportedly admitted to deleting the material a month before the search was conducted by officers. However, Hoskins "denied any type of inappropriate sexual conduct with any minors."
Law enforcement officers conducted an additional conversation with Hoskins while using a polygraph exam. During that conversation, Hoskins admitted to officials that he reportedly had multiple instances of sexual contact with a 15-year-old female.
In an interview with the minor, she provided details of multiple incidents involving Hoskins, including one reported incident where the minor was forced to perform oral sex on Hoskins. After that specific incident, Hoskins reportedly told the minor to not tell anyone about the incident.
According to court documents, an initial hearing for Hoskins occurred in late August in regards to this case.
