COATESVILLE, Ind. — The Hendricks County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Thursday.
According to the HCSO, deputies responded around 10:08 a.m. on the call of a motor vehicle crash on SR 75, just south of Coatesville and near the intersection of Co Rd 600S. Upon investigation, they had discovered that a vehicle was traveling southbound on SR 75, and then crossed into the northbound lanes of SR 75. There, it was struck head on by a white dump truck.
The first vehicle's driver was pronounced dead on scene, but the HCSO reported that the dump truck driver remained uninjured. The deceased's name is being withheld until next of kin are properly notified.
Police said they do not know why the driver crossed into the northbound lane. Neither drugs nor alcohol are not suspected to play a role in the crash.
