INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating after one person was shot on the city’s north side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the 9200 block of Ascot Circle around 7:01 a.m. on a report of a person shot. When they arrived, they found one individual suffering from injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical, but stable, condition. Officers have a suspect detained.
The preliminary investigation found that the situation is an isolated and domestic incident. A firearm, along with additional evidence, was recovered.
The suspect was transported to the Aggravated Assault Office. After consulting the Marion County Prosecutor's Office for a charging decision, the suspect will be arrested and transported to the jail.
