INDIANAPOLIS - The Indianapolis Metro Police Department is investigating a crash that killed a woman late Tuesday night.
According to IMPD, around 11:50 p.m. officers received a call of a person struck at the intersection of 30th and Elmhurst Drive.
When officers arrived, they located a woman who'd been struck by a vehicle. The victim was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition where she later died.
On Wednesday, the Marion County Coroner's Office identified the person who died as 54-year-old Mirta Pesquera Lopez.
Police said that the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
Officers closed East 30th Street between Radford Dr. and Elmhurst Dr. for investigation and crash reconstruction.
