KOKOMO, Ind. — The Kokomo Police Department reported that a crash Friday morning caused a victim to sustain "serious bodily injury".
According to KPD, officers were dispatched around 7:19 a.m. on Friday to the intersection of Washington Street and Monroe Street in Kokomo. On the scene, police discovered that a motorcyclist struck a van on the left rear driver's side. This led the motorcyclist to be ejected from the motorcycle.
KPD said that the driver was not wearing a helmet, and the collision caused life-threatening injuries. Per a press release, they were transported to an area hospital, then flown by helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital for more extensive treatment.
