INDIANAPOLIS -- A dog died after a Wednesday evening house fire on the northwest side of Indianapolis, according to the Pike Township Fire Department.
In a post on the department's social media, the department responded to a home in the 8100 block of N. Michigan Rd. around 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday on a report of a fire.
When the department arrived at the scene, they saw wire and smoke through the home's roof. One pet dog died from smoke inhalation but no other injuries were reported.
Officials said that the Indianapolis Fire Department also assisted with the fire.
