INDIANAPOLIS — A man is dead after being found shot on Indy's near southwest side Thursday evening.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called around 5:25 p.m. Thursday to the 1800 block of W. Morris Street for a gunshot.
IMPD said in an update around 5:45 p.m. that officers arrived in the area to find an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. That victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition where later died.
IMPD said that no suspect is currently in custody and that officers have not identified any possible persons of interest. Officers will remain on the scene to speak with potential witnesses or anyone who may have information related to the shooting.
No other information was immediately provided by IMPD. The investigation into the deadly shooting remains active.
