OWEN COUNTY, Ind. -- An investigation has been launched after the deceased body of a man was found in Owen County Monday.
According to the Owen County Sheriff's Office, the body of Malik Sims was located on a "rural county road" by sheriff's deputies on Monday. At this time, the sheriff's office did not provide the exact name of the street or area where Sims was found.
His cause of death remains under investigation, pending the conclusion of an autopsy set to be conducted by the Owen County Coroner. OCSO said no additional information would be immediately provided to the public in an effort to "protect the integrity of the case."
Troopers with the Indiana State Police and officers with the Bloomington Police Department also assisted in the investigation.
