Clarification: The Howard County Coroner's Office provided an update that clarified Oropeza's place of employment.

GREENTOWN, Ind. -- A Venezuelan man died after he was electrocuted while setting up for the Howard County 4-H Fair on Saturday, according to the Howard County Coroner's Office.

On Saturday, EMS and other first responders were dispatched to a fire station in Greentown on a call of an unconscious-unresponsive man with CPR in progress. A news release from the coroner's office said that a man, later identified as 36-year-old Jose Julian Garcia Oropeza, was transported by co-workers from the Howard County Fairgrounds to the fire station.

When EMS arrived, the release said that advanced cardiac life support was provided. After 30 minutes, Oropeza was pronounced dead that evening and the coroner's office was requested to respond to the scene.

The release said that Oropeza was a food vendor company employee who was working at the Howard County Fairgrounds while setting up for the county's 4-H fair. Oropeza, along with his co-workers, were setting up one of the food vendors when they were electrically shocked. Oropeza then became unconscious and unresponsive.

An autopsy, conducted on Monday, initially found that Oropeza died because of the electrocution. The release said that the final cause and manner of death are pending.

The case remains under investigation by the Howard County Coroner's Office, the Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Howard County Sheriff's Office.
