FULTON COUNTY, Ind. -- A Rochester man was pronounced dead after a Tuesday afternoon crash in Fulton County, according to Indiana State Police.
Just after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, officials with the Indiana State Police and the Fulton County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle crash near 4960 North Old US 31 in Rochester, according to a news release from the Indiana State Police.
According to a preliminary crash investigation, 23-year-old Quinton Sayger, a Rochester resident, was driving a Buick heading southbound on Old U.S. 31 when it traveled left of center on the road. Officials said that a Dodge traveling northbound on Old U.S. 31 collided with the Buick, causing both vehicles to come to a rest.
The release said that Sayger was pronounced dead at the crash scene. The driver of the Dodge, identified as a 37-year-old Plymouth resident, was transported to an area hospital for serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries.
Officials with ISP's crash reconstruction team are investigating the incident. Officials said neither the consumption of alcohol nor narcotics are suspected of contributing to the crash.
