INDIANAPOLIS-- Two men are dead following a pair of shootings that took place less than five minutes apart in the Crown Hill neighborhood.
Running inside his family's home, 21-year-old Anthony Brown told his mother he'd been shot and someone was trying to kill him.
When IMPD and paramedics showed up to the home near 32nd and Capitol around 2:30 in the morning, Brown was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
Police don't know exactly where that victim was shot before he returned to his family's home.

Less than five minutes later, IMPD were called to a second shooting and found another victim lying dead in the street behind a car on West 32nd.
Police are looking into whether the two crimes are connected, but right now they’re being treated as two separate incidents.
"Obviously, our officers have been very busy," said IMPD Lt. Vicent Stewart. "We are just asking for peace and calmness in the community."
Brown's mother says her son lived in Georgia and was home visiting for Pride month. His family is pleaded for the public’s help in finding his killer.
"It's frustrating to wake up and hear the news that there were two people killed in a neighborhood we work," said Reverend Charles Harrison with the Ten Point Coalition.
The pair of deaths continue what has been a violent year so far in Crown Hill. In fact, the very first homicide of 2024, on New Year's Day, took place on Boulevard Place in the same neighborhood.
"It's been a tough year so far in Crown Hill," said Harrison. "I know the residents are frustrated about it and groups like Ten Point are frustrated about it."
In all, there have now been five homicides in the Crown Hill neighborhood in 2024. The neighborhood has long been patrolled by the Ten Point Coalition.
That group will continue their nightly patrols to try and prevent any more violence.
"A lot of attention is being put into that area to try and help lower the level of violence," said Harrison. "Certainly we'll be out tonight, Ten Point and talk to IMPD to try to figure out what happened this morning that led to two people being killed."
So far, no arrests have been made from the two overnight homicides.
