INDIANAPOLIS — The Marion County Sheriff's Office is charging eight former employees with overtime theft, as they claimed to work hours that were never actually performed.
In a press release, MCSO said that the following people, previously working for the correctional staff, were charged with theft and official misconduct, both Level 6 felonies:
- Arielle Pharms
- Christopher Clayton
- Dorothy Carter
- Mariam Adamson-Alvarez
- Oluwafemi Osanyin
- Tamika Gouch
- Tiffany Miller
- Jamie Cinevert
The investigation took place after MCSO noticed a pattern of unusual overtime data, court documents stated. The agency estimated that they had been defrauded out of a collective $13,617.14. MCSO said restitution will be requested as a part of the criminal justice process.
"We hold our employees to the highest standards of integrity and accountability," Sheriff Forestal of the MCSO said. "The actions of these individuals are not reflective of the values upheld by the MCSO – as evidenced by their termination and criminal charges.”
